Gordon and MacPhail

Based in the city and Royal Burgh of Elgin, Gordon & MacPhail remains family owned and managed. Established in 1895, the company has grown into one of Scotland’s leading independent whisky specialists through wholesaling, bottling and its own distillery in nearby Forres. Owned by the third and fourth generation of the Urquhart family, the company includes Benromach Distillery in Forres, Speyside’s smallest working distillery, which was painstakingly re-equipped after its acquisition in 1993. The Gordon & MacPhail store has access to a stock holding of more than 1,000 whiskies, including the full Benromach range. It also showcases over 500 wines, a selection of champagnes, spirits, Scottish micro-beers and a delicatessen with handmade local chocolates.
